Hololive Announces Exciting New Year’s Eve Events for 2024-2025

VTuber company COVER Corporation has unveiled that its popular group Hololive will host a special New Year’s Eve program titled "Year-End Hololive ～ゆくホロくるホロ 2024▷2025～" on December 31, 2024. The event will include a completely free countdown concert, "Hololive Production COUNTDOWN LIVE 2024▷2025," streaming for over five hours starting at 5:30 PM JST (4:30 PM Taiwan time) on their official YouTube channel. Following the successful format of previous years, this year’s celebration promises an exciting mix of entertainment and interaction, including a special variety segment that allows fans to join in the fun throughout the night.

Fan Engagement and New Initiatives

Beginning December 6, Hololive fans can participate in a unique engagement activity via the Holoplus app. They can submit nominations for their favorite moments through the "ホロライブ撮れ高大賞2024" campaign, which will select the best live stream highlights. This year, the event will also feature more than 60 artists performing, with a focus on original Hololive songs. While most performances are pre-recorded, many stages will have live viewing to enhance the experience for fans.

Exciting Lineup and Surprise Appearances

This year's concert will not feature the much-anticipated "Hololive Shuffle Medley," and there’s been no announcement regarding which artists will perform live. Notably, popular members such as Marine Houshou will participate in the ABEMA TV year-end music festival "桃色歌合戦," while Suisei Hoshimachi will appear at the "COUNTDOWN JAPAN 24/25" event. Fans are eagerly awaiting the official lineup announcement.

Special New Year’s Programming

In addition to the countdown celebration, Hololive will host a special New Year’s event titled "年末ホロライブ ～ゆくホロくるホロ 2024▷2025～," which will run from December 31 at 5:30 PM until January 1 at 3 AM. This event will feature not only the first generation of Hololive members but also the new units ReGLOSS and FLOW GLOW. They will engage in an interactive project called "ホロライブ笑ダウン24," where they aim to make viewers laugh within 24 seconds.

Innovative New Segments

This year, the comedic aspect continues with ReGLOSS taking on a mentorship role, guiding new members of FLOW GLOW through humorous challenges in the "ReGLOSSドッキリ狙われた標的＜FLOW GLOW＞" segment. Additionally, the official announcement of "hololive casino" is set to enthrall audiences with a gambling-themed game show, where artists will compete in various challenges to win luxurious prizes.

Upcoming Special Holiday Shows

Furthermore, a special Christmas program titled "真のサンタは誰だ！？ホロライブ・バトルロワイアル" (Who is the Real Santa? Hololive Battle Royale) will air on December 20, featuring over 20 Hololive members. The participant list will be revealed on Lily Hoshikawa’s channel on December 12. This event promises to add to the festive excitement leading up to the New Year.

Long-Awaited Return of Mikkorone 24

After a three-year hiatus, the beloved New Year’s program "Mikkorone 24" featuring Sakura Miko and Inugami Korone will return for a 24-hour live stream from January 2 to January 3, 2025. The event, which will be divided between Miko’s and Korone’s channels, will include a brand-new original song, "みっころね×やってやんよ!!". Fans can look forward to exclusive merchandise, including T-shirts and other collectibles, which are expected to sell out quickly.
